The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old.
Major hotels and restaurants have purified water. Water comes from surrounding mountains, filtered through natural sand beds. Bottled water is available in tourist destinations. Unlike other areas in Mexico, the Los Cabos water system is reliable. In addition, the hotel uses both biologic and ultraviolet filters for additional safety.

The official hurricane season is June to October, however many storms form throughout September. The best time to plan a vacation is from late October until May.
The climate in Los Cabos is a subtropical desert. Most of the year Los Cabos is warm and sunny with an average temperature of 78°F. During the summer, highs can be in the upper 90°s F with occasional showers. Winter evenings can drop into the 50°s with daytime highs near 80°F.

Los Cabos is on Mountain Time, which is one hour later than Pacific Time. Mexico does participate in daylight savings time, though the start and end dates are not always the same as the U.S. and Canada.
It is customary to tip in Mexico. Like the United States, tips range from 10% to 20% on restaurants and any local activities that require staff assistance.
The official unit of currency is the Mexican Peso. Many national banks in Los Cabos have ATM Machines that accept U.S. bank cards and will dispense Mexican pesos. All major credit cards are accepted in Los Cabos; Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted. American Express and Discover Card are accepted in a few locations.
