Biking
By the day or by hour, mountain bikes are available for rent at Desert Park In Cabo real Ecological Reserve the Las Brisas Trailer Park and Nature Adventure in San Jose del Cabo.
In Cabo San Lucas mountain bikes can be rented at Tio Spor s for about $5 an hour or $20 for the day. The desert area around Los Cabos and the old lighthouse are favored riding areas.
Anyone heading out on a remote back road should take a detailed map of the area and common-sense supplies. Ask about guides when renting your equipment. Cycling alone in remote areas is not recommended.
Riding bicycles in busy Cabo San Lucas is not recommended due to traffic, dust and pedestrians, so either walk it or park it. Helmets are suggested for your own safety.
Hiking
A long walk on the beach is definitely a beautiful hike in Los Cabos, but trekking through the desert takes things up a knotch, with flowing landscapes and gorgeous views.
The ocean is a different color from high above and the unusual desert scenery spectacular in its own minimalistic and dramatic way.
Low temperatures are best for this sport as you would not want to go trekking in the hot weather (morning is best time for summer trekking). Also be sure to pack plenty of healthy snacks and water. Go in teams or in pairs, the guide will offer you plenty of information on local plants and species.
